Match report:

Celtic left it late to progress to the quarter finals of the u15 cup in an exciting game with Inter Kenmare in lovely spring sunshine in Celtic Park. Celtic started well and created enough chances in the first half to win most games but couldn't find the net, with talisman striker Samuel Scroope going close on a number of occasions.

Kenmare are a very good team and were quick on the counter. While Celtic were briefly down to 10 men due to an injury to Jack Grady, they broke down the left and a dangerous ball from the byline was turned into the net by a lunging Celtic leg.

To be fair the lads rallied well and continued to play good football with Dara Horan and Lachlan Scannell linking up on the left hand side. Luca Mosca went close when set up for a long range strike and his corners were well delivered.

In the second half Celtic struggled to find fluency and Kenmare grew in confidence.

Mark Looney's move up to midfield, with the excellent Daithi Stack covering, proved pivotal and his carrying, passing and energy created some good opportunities.

A lovely Luca pass set up Jack Culloty, whose control was excellent but agonisingly his strike beat the keeper but not the crossbar. It was looking very like Celtic's u16 Cup tie 2 weeks ago and the deja vu was palpable.

Kiernan Kelly was having a great tussle on the left wing with the Kenmare LB and the always busy Sean Collins had a good opportunity which he blazed over.

With less than 5 minutes to go, Celtic got their just rewards - Mark Looney released Samuel, whose run was perfectly timed and he lobbed the onrushing Kenmare keeper with a deft finish.

Celtic continued to push and with a minute left an advanced throwin led to a great cross from Jack Culloty which reached Luca whose sweet half volley from just inside the box beat the Kenmare keeper for a sensational turn around.

There was still time for late drama when Kenmare broke in the final minute and a foul was committed on the edge of the Celtic box.

Thankfully the wall did its job and Celtic defended the resulting corner well to take the spoils.

👏Thanks to ref Tom Kerrisk and to the Kenmare players, coaches and supporters for a great Cup game.

Celtic face MEK in the 1/4 finals of the Cup

👏Well done boys and management
