💁♂️U10 Boy’s Bowl Semi Final
🇳🇬U10 Boys White 🆚 Fenit Samphires
Celtic won in extra time to go through to the Bowl Final.
Celtic u10 white welcomed Fenit Samphires to Celtic Park this morning for the semi final of the Bowl. Fenit started the brighter and went up early on. Celtic battled back well and were creating plenty of chances but just couldn't finish. Fionn Murphy came closest after a good passing move but his shot just cleared the crossbar.
In the 2nd quarter Celtic kept pressing for the equaliser but the Fenit back line held firm and they were always a danger on the break and caught Celtic out with a quick counter attack to. Celtic had a lot to do to get back into the game but the boys kept playing their soccer but couldn't find the break through. It took a long speculative drive by Hleb which caught the Fenit keeper off his line to get Celtic back into it. But this Fenit team were god and they hit back. They took the lead into the final quarter. But this is where Celtic showed their true battling spirit and Cian O'Connell pulled one back and then Fionn Murphy poked home from a corner. It was all Celtic now but despite good chances for Adam O' Riordan and James Courteny they couldn't force the winner and had to rely on a great save from Hleb, who took up in goal for the final quarter, to take the game to extra time. Their was only one team in it in the 5 minutes extra period and goals from Connell Favier and Cian O'Connell sealed a great comeback win for the boys. They all played their part and did the club proud with their fighting spirit and good football.
Hard luck to Fenit who battled hard throughout and on another day could have won.
👏Thanks to ref Tom Kerrisk
👏Well done boys and management.
