This evening was a lesson on the importance of a good start.
Park C came into this game sitting on top of the table and in the opening 15mins they showed how they managed to get there.
A very well drilled Park side were 2-0 up in a matter of minutes. Celtic lost last week's man of the match, centre-back Thomas Mulvihill through injury soon after, and half way through the opening half Park had added 3 more.
That might give the impression that Celtic's keeper Illia Pomishchyk had an off night, but that was certainly not the case. The Celtic No.1 pulled off several cracking saves and has continued to improve game by game since the start of the session.
Even though Celtic were well behind on the scoreboard, they started to get stuck into the Tralee side after the opening quarter and gave the opposition no time on the ball and forced several turnovers. The link between midfield and the final quarter struggled, leaving the score at 6-0 at HT.
After the break Celtic took the intensity up a level, Laurence Phebya, Culann Cronin and Dylan Brosnan looked much more solid at the back and Celtic managed to play more ball in Park's half.
Eryk McGrath, Conor Bartlett and Fionn Murphy were working much better in the centre but the home side defended very well to keep Celtic out.
Half way through the second half Maksym Opala linked onto a nice ball from Fionn Murphy, his shot was parried by Park's keeper into the path of the in rushing Cian O'Connell who smashed it home. The goal was well deserved for the huge effort and never say die attitude shown by the Celtic boys.
