Yesterday we created history for our club by winning the 1st senior ladies Cup.
The players were outstanding, led as always by Katie Doe who led by example from the start with her range of passing and never say die attitude which fed into the team.
Although this was an extremely close game the whole way through Celtic created the better chances in the final 3rd and 15mins into the match Hannah Casey combined with Eabha Lyne to make it 1-0.
2nd half CastleIsland had us under serious pressure but thankfully Clodagh Moriarty and Grainne Kennedy kept their calm and managed to keep us 1-0 up heading into the last 30mins.
The introduction of Sadbh O'Halloran, Ellie Mai Nugent and Selina Collins helped to reduce the pressure.
With the clock running down Sadbh won a ball in the box which then fell to Ellie who finished superbly to put us 2 up with basically the last kick of the game.
Match finished 2-0 to Celtic but CastleIsland can hold their heads high as they pushed us all the way to the final whistle.
👏A huge thanks to Aidan and his players for a brilliant game and no doubt will be strong contenders again next season.
