A close final was played out in Tralee between 2 evenly matched teams. Celtic played well in the first 30 minutes with plenty of possession and really should have taken a couple of their chances. LB Rovers, a physically bigger team took advantage at a corner to score a great headed goal to lead 1-0 at half time.
2nd half was again evenly matched but Celtic could not break down a strong LB Rovers back 4 and they added a 2nd goal and then a 3rd with the last kick of the game.
The Celtic boys were unlucky to lose a 3rd final in 4 years but always against 1st teams and showed good character over the seasons to stick together, missing out on a league playoff by 1 point this season following last seasons league win.
