Celtic U11 took on Castleisland in the final of the u11Plate. In a tight 1st half Castleisland started the stronger and 2 good saves by Alex Stopa kept the game scoreless. Celtic had a great chance to score when Eric Dominguez shot was spilled by the keeper but Conall Favier follow up just went wide. Celtic were starting to take control thanks to Fionn Murphy and Timor in midfield. The defence was on top also with Jack Galvin, Hled Ostopov and Conor Clifford excelling. Good contributions also from James Courtney and JJ O' Sullivan meant Castleisland didn't get many chances. The half finished scoreless.
In the 2nd period Celtic dominated but Castleisland defended well. John Tzchenko was holding the ball up well and bringing Cian O’Connell into play. The deadlock was finally broken when Cian O’Connell disposed the Castleisland defender and finished to the net. Celtic were in the lead when Cian was played through and again he made no mistake. It was all Celtic now and Adam O’Riordan’s shot was saved but Eric Dominguez made no mistake from the rebound. Adam O’Riordan rounded off the scoring with the goal of the game when he volleyed home to seal the win for Celtic. All the lads played well .
